Our founder celebrity hairstylist Cheryl Bergamy reflects on her journey in the beauty industry from a childhood passion to becoming a hairstylist to the stars.
It’s no coincidence that I became a hairstylist. My love for hair started when I was nine years old. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and not having the strength to help me and my sister, she taught me how to braid my own hair for school. I remember practicing on all the dolls in the house and finding it very calming.
My heart broke every day watching my mother slip away. As a result, doing hair became my therapy. Believe it or not, it made me stronger and more focused. Plus, it was very fulfilling –– as it still is today.

Hi I first met Cheryl went I came in the salon in 2001to get my hair done for a wedding. after looking in the mirror and seeing my hair transformed into being beautiful I knew this was going to be my hair stylist for a very long time.
Your story is touching and uplifting hearing about those partial mobile folks getting up amazed at their hairstyles and almost risking their disability checks in the mail on the account for beauty 😂
